A Brief History of Light for Living. Light for Living began as a writing ministry of Pastor Gary Click while pastoring the Calvary Baptist Church in Clinton, IN. His articles were published in the local newspaper, The Daily Clintonian. They were also distributed to email subscribers and several were posted on this website. Shortly after assuming the pastorate of the Fremont Baptist Temple, Fremont, OH, he was approached by Pastor James Lewis and chief operator, Brian Benedict about providing a two thirty-minute Radio Programs for the weekend. (WHVT 90.5 fm) At this point, Pastor Click's writing ministry transformed into a radio ministry. Due to time constrains, the weekly devotional gave way to the radio ministry. However, these devotionals are still available online through the Light for Living Archives. Pastor Click is still active in writing bible studies, dramas and devotional articles for other applications. We hope to make those resources available soon. Click here to learn more about becoming a Christian. Listen to the "Light for Living" broadcast live on whvtfm.com Saturdays and Sundays at 4:00 pm.

How Can I Become a Christian?
The Bible teaches us that we all fall short of perfection. There is not one person who is sinless. As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one . Romans 3:10For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 Our imperfection costs us something. There are definite and eternal consequences for our sin. For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23aAnd death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:14, 15 We can see from these verses that the cost is high and the consequences are severe. We know that physical death means separation of the soul from the body. However, spiritual death is ever more severe. It results in the separation of the soul from God for all eternity. But God’s great love for us would not allow Him to stand idly by. He wants us to be free. So His love for us compelled Him to give His greatest gift. This gift would give us eternal liberty. This gift would set us free from the penalty of sin. This gift would make it possible for us to never be separated from God. We should all be glad that God’s word does not end with the judgment of sin. It only begins revealing our need to be set free. God’s word continues to show us the pathway to freedom. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23b For God so loved the world, that he have his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life . John 3:16God’s love for us was and is so intense, that He made the greatest sacrifice ever recorded. As you have often heard it said, "Freedom isn’t free. It always costs someone something." Freedom is often purchased with the blood of valiant men. That cost was paid for us by Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. When He died on the cross, He paid the price for our sins. What will you do with God’s gift to you? God’s tremendous gift requires a response. God did what we could not do. He gave what we could not give. He paid the price that we could not pay. What does He expect from us? His word tells us. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, (prayer) and shalt believe in thine heart (faith) that God hath rased him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (promise) Romans 10:9Notice how the Scriptures reemphasize this in the next verse. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10How will you respond to God? When God makes a promise, you can count on it! You never need to doubt His Word. This is undoubtedly the greatest promise you will ever find. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13Christ has paid the way and presented you with a promise. Now your eternal destiny lies in your hands. Freedom from sin stands before you, ready to be accepted or rejected. Will you choose liberty or bondage? The choice is yours. Will you accept Christ and His free gift of salvation? If you will accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, simply pray and ask Him to forgive you for your sins and be your Savior. You can pray in your own words or you can pray something like the sample prayer below. If you will call in Him now, placing your faith and trust in Him, He will keep His promise to you. Lord Jesus, thank you for dying on the cross for my sins, then raising from the dead. I humbly ask you to forgive me for all my sins and be my Savior. Thank you dear Jesus for saving me. Amen. Remember Romans 10:13 listed above. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Notice the word shall. It is a definite word. It does not mean hopes, maybe, possibly, or even probably. Shall means shall. It’s a done deal! I like to use the following simple, logical examination of this verse whenever someone trusts Christ as I hope that you have. If you prayed the prayer above or one similar, then one of three things just happened.
I’ll let you go through those possibilities. Only you and God know your own heart. We know that God cannot lie. So if you prayed the prayer of salvation from the bottom of your heart, you can rest assured that Jesus has saved you. If you have just trusted Christ, please send me an email. I would love to rejoice with you over the greatest decision in your life. You are the
